California energy regulators are directing the state's major investor-owned utilities (IOUs) to better analyze the potential power load impacts of electric vehicle (EV) charging and the costs of installing new EV charging meters at homes and businesses, a requirement that is expected to briefly delay final state rules affecting rates and other key EV-implementation policies.
